Carolyn Jean Steverson was called home to glory, Thursday, August 24, 2023 after enduring a long battle with cancer. She entered this life on Sunday, September 16, 1951, to Helen Marie Steverson, who preceded her in death.
Due to the passing of their mother, Carolyn, Mamie and Jessie Steverson moved from Lebanon to Nashville and was reared by their devoted late aunt, Mattie Murray.
Carolyn attended Metro Nashville Public Schools and graduated from Cameron High School in 1969. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at Foster Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and later she united with Beech Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member. Carolyn enjoyed singing with the Mass Choir and was a part of the Oasis Senior Club.
Carolyn was employed with Millennium Maxwell House Hotel for more than ten years until she became ill. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching high school basketball, and rooting on her favorite NFL team, the Tennessee Titans and loved cooking and playing spades.
Carolyn's proudest moment was when she became the mother of a doting baby boy whom she lovingly called "Terry". She took on the task of being Terry's mother with such pride and with joy. There was nothing she would not do for her son. This is indeed why she worked so hard to take care of him.
