Deacon Calvin Foxx

November 14, 1950 — November 12, 2024

Deacon Calvin Ross Foxx was the eldest son born to the late William Ross Foxx and Lula Simmons Foxx on November 14, 1950, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, Lincoln County. On November 12, 2024, he transitioned peacefully to his heavenly home in Paradise.

Calvin professed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. Later in life he joined Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James D. Cooke where he was chosen and ordained as a Deacon on March 21, 1990. He loved his role for 12 years, serving in the prayer Band, visiting the sick. Later, he led his family to Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Walker, III where he served faithfully on the Deacon Ministry assisting with baptism candidates until his health declined. Clapping his hands was his Praise unto the Lord until the end. Psalm 150.

Calvin was educated in the Metropolitan Schools. He received his G.E.D. as God’s Elect Disciple.

Calvin was employed in numerous jobs in the city. He retired from the State of Tennessee Surplus Property after 25 years of service. He was a witness that Jesus Is Lord in all the buildings he went into, expecting souls to be saved.

Calvin was a humble, humorous, laid-back, kind, gentle soul. Always keeping you laughing and forgetting about his troubles.

Calvin favorite past time was gardening, fishing, and Yum Yum he could cook, fellowshipping with family and friends.

On September 21, 1979, he married his beloved Pamela Gant Foxx of 45 years, thru sickness and thru health unto death do us part, a dedicated husband who cherished his vows. “My Honey” as they called each other. He also exemplified his fatherhood to his children, siblings and always claiming children who were fatherless as his own. Calvin will truly be missed by all who knew him leaving a legacy of love
