Byron O’Neal “BJ” Maclin, Jr was born on August 7th, 1988 in Nashville, TN to Dorothea Wade and Byron “Neal” Maclin Sr., He entered eternal rest on May 6th, 2022. He was the first of two siblings. He attended Metro Nashville Public Schools, graduating from Pearl Cohn High School in 2006.
Following graduation, Byron was employed with Metro Public Works as a Maintenance and Repair Worker 1 and later transferred to Metro Water Services where he worked in various capacities for fifteen years. Through his hard work and dedication, he was extremely proud to be promoted to a Utility Maintenance Specialist 2. He loved his job dearly and would often refer to himself as the best one to get the job done.
Byron loved spending precious time with his beautiful daughters and welcomed them where-ever he was. A family-oriented man, he would spend most of his days entertaining family and friends and watching sports. He was an avid fan of Tennessee Titans and Memphis Grizzlies. A man full of adventure, he would try anything at least once, even if it was a failure. Not to mention, he was the life of the party. The party didn’t start till he walked in and the party was definitely over when he left.
He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Dorothea Wade and father, Byron “Neal” (Yolanda) Maclin, Sr., daughters, Cha’ron, LaVaa, and Taree Maclin, Takilah and Taylynn,Johnson siblings, Brandon Maclin, MarQwuan and Tearicka Gordon, and Dania Ellison, aunts, Deborah (Julius) Crutcher, Alice Dean, Angela (James) Flenoy, Fannie (Lawrence) Wade-Coleman, Linda Crowell, Maxine and Shirl Davis, and Kimberly (Ronald) Gooch, uncles, David and Johnathon (Teresa) Crutcher and Kenneth (Lenore) Hamilton, and a host of relatives and friends.
Viewing Monday, May 16, 2022, 1-6 at funeral home. Visitation Tuesday, May 17, 2022, 11-12 with funeral to follow at Greater Love Kingdom Building Church. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery North.
