Sister Bonnie Jean King Staten, was the 3rd child out of 15 children born to the union of the late Mr. Charlie and Christner King, she was born on September 4, 1939. She departed her life on Thursday, February 2, 2023.
Sister Staten grew up in the Smyrna Community and at an early age joined Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member until her health failed her. She worked for R.B. Wilson Medical Center, 35 years at Henry I. Siegel Company, and Nestaway.
On September 17, 1982 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Bobie Staten, and they enjoyed a number of years of marriage, until his passing.
Sister Staten was preceded in death by her husband, Bobie Staten, parents, Charlie and Christner King, brother, Bobby Jean King, sisters, Nadine (Joe) Parker, Virgie Mae (F.T) Chapple, Raylean (Carvene)Jamison, and Dorothy Faye King, step grandsons Justin Hampton, Tristian Townes, and a special friend, Mather Pearson.
She is survived by her loving devoted daughter, Retha Ann King (Charles Johnson), stepdaughters, Lorrie Ann Johnson and Donna (Mark) Thomas, her grandchildren, Toni Rena' Whittico, Raven (Terry) Macon, Charisma Johnson, Brandon Pearson, Martez Hampton, Deja Williams. Her great-grandchildren, Kaden King, Ashtin Johnson, Ayla Johnson, Addyson Hampton, her siblings, Charlie Lee King, Jessie Mae Jamison, Eva Mae Carter, Marilyn (Danny) Johnson, Mack (Jearneitha) King all of Huntingdon, TN,
Leon King of Bay City, MI, Wanda McKinnie of Jackson, TN, Rosalyn (James) Milam of McKenzie, TN, Mike (Pandora) King of Lexington, TN., and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
