Bonnie Faye Jones-Gentry

Bonnie Gentry was born on April 14, 1974 in Nashville, Tennessee to loving parents Dawn Jones and Leonard Jones.  She gained her wings and entered eternal life on Saturday, May 4, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Bonnie was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Davidson County School System where she graduated from Pearl Cohn High School.  She accepted Christ in her life and fellowshipped with Friendship Missionary Baptist Church until her passing.

Bonnie loved being with family, regardless the occasion.  She enjoyed making memories, bingo, spades, and being invited on the road in someone’s passenger seat.  She had a contagious laugh and a smile that could make you smile.  Holidays and family gatherings won’t be the same not hearing “come take a picture with me” because that was her favorite thing to do.  She was mama to many, a best friend to a few, and always a shoulder to anyone.  Her arms were always open and heart always full.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her mother, Dawn Jones; grandmothers, Mable Bowen, Mary Rainey; grandfathers, John Fletcher Sr., JD Jones; aunt, Deborah Washington; mother-in-law, Delores Gentry; father-in-law, John Gentry, Sr.; and sister-in-law, Vanessa Glass.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Michael Gentry; son, Christopher Stintson, Jr.; daughter, Michayhia Gentry, father, Leonard Jones; siblings, Chiquinta Anderson, Shelenda Fletcher, Teresa Jones, Monique Fletcher, Sedrick Fletcher; in-laws, John (Geraldine) Gentry, Keith (Deborah) Gentry, Deborah (Ernest) Jones; nieces, Tresa (Steven) Clark, Jasmine Tulloss, Jordan Rudolph, Zayia Rudolph, Tamesha Gaston, Keresa Gentry; nephews, Terry Fletcher, Dequane Fletcher, Zack Rudolph, Jr., Daniel Glass; 6 great nephews, 9 great nieces; godsons, Marvelle Prescott, Avion and Avont Oldham; dedicated cousin, Roberta Amason; friends, Vneka Parnell, Angelita Bowers-Smith, Onneka Brown, Trellis Johnson; and a host of aunts, uncles, other family relatives and friends.
