Ms. Bobbie D. Smith Jones was born July 18, 1944 to the union of James Aaron Smith, Sr., and Eula Bell McCoy Smith in Culleoka, Tennessee (Giles County). She joined her heavenly family on Saturday, July 6, 2024 with her family by her side in Nashville, Tennessee. She was third born in a set of triplets, surviving her other two siblings, and was the seventh child born of eleven children to her parents. Bobbie was educated at Elk Ridge Elementary, J.T. Bridgeforth High School in Giles County and transitioned to Carver Smith High School upon moving to Columbia, TN. She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and had a personal relationship with the Lord.
Upon her arrival to Nashville, TN, she was employed as a secretary with Life and Casualty Insurance Company. After leaving Life and Casualty, she began employment at Nashville State Community College as a cashier in the cafeteria. She then transferred to the Graphic Arts Department as a secretary. While in that position, she obtained her Advanced Executive Secretarial Certificate from Nashville State Community College. Later she was promoted to Printing Estimator within the Graphic Arts Department. Bobbie remained at Nashville State Community College until her retirement in 2006, rendering 30 years of service. Bobbie enjoyed thrift store shopping, reading and keeping up with friends and family on Facebook while living comfortably in the home she purchased in 1976. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents James Aaron Smith, Sr., and Eula Bell McCoy Smith; two sons, Curtis Andrè Jones and Varick Pierrè Jones; three sisters, Carolyn Pretrecha, Mary Lucille and Willie Bell; five brothers, Walter Dee, Cleophus, Alex, Ransom, James.

Also preceding in death were her very close friends, Shirley, Big Bobbie, Jean, Ruth, Emma and Mary Jane.
Those left to mourn her passing and celebrate her memories are her three devoted children, son, Darryl Miguel Jones; daughters, Rhondalynn Kay (Carl) Larrieu, Terean Gilnika Irvin Odom; eleven grandchildren, Angela (Marchello) Varnado , Keith Batts, Carolyn Batts, DeEricka Pullens, Carla Kay Larrieu, Julian Odom, Jonathan Odom, Isabella Wilson, Gabriella Wilson, George Haynie and Natalie Jones; ten great-grandchildren, Jamal, Carolyn Kay, Ilys, MarTayjah, Aaliyah, Akeelyah, Arabella, Georian, Geokyra, Geo’Mauni; sister, Dorothy Holloman, Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother, Larry J. (Carole) Smith, Denver, Colorado. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to celebrate her legacy.
