Angela Denise Porter

Angela was born on February 15, 1971 to the parents of Sherry Porter and Bubba Pope.  She lived in Nashville, Tennessee all of her life. 

Angela excepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at United Free Will Baptist Church, with her grandfather Charles Porter.  She received her education in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System where she received her diploma from Maplewood High School.

Angela loved being a caregiver throughout her life.  She was legally married to a wonderful husband and father.  Everyone knows she loved her husband and children.  Charlie Howard made sure she was taken care of all her life.  

Angie loved being around her family, welcoming people into her home, and taking care of family.  She touched a lot of souls and praised a lot of children.  Along the way, she never closed a door on anyone and always wanted them to know we were all God’s children.  She always wanted children to know that they are loved no matter the situation- “my door is always open”.

Angela loved family gatherings, taking family vacations, swimming, and eating seafood at Red Lobster.  She loved her grandchildren, nieces and nephews dearly.  She was called home to her loved ones, son, Charlie Howard III; brother, Tony Stewart; grandmother, Beverly Porter; grandfather, Charlie Porter.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters, Shatara (James) Howard, Shanika (Brandon) Jennings, ShaAngela (Sharita) Howard,  Ja’Niyah Black; son, Tyresse Howard, stepsons, Monques Gray, Anthony Bell; brother, Steven Steward; 25 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; aunts, Shannie, Landy, Juan Porter; cousins, Shawnee Teasley, Antwan Porter; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members in the Porter, Hocket, Black, and Howard families.
