Alfred James Craig

Alfred James Craig was born on March 14, 1935 in Orrville, Alabama to the union of Rosa Craig and Jimmy Hollis. He entered peacefully into rest on Monday, March 13, 2023

Alfred accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Greater Grace Temple, under the leadership of Pastor Breonus Mitchell. He later became a member of Ephesian Primitive Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Cornelius Hill.

Alfred received his formal education in Alabama Public School Systems, graduating from Keith High School. After completing of High School, he enlisted in the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge in 1957.

Alfred was united in Holy Matrimony to Lola Pearl Briskey in Birmingham, Alabama 1960.

 Alfred was employed with Morris Cafeteria in Birmingham, Farrow Fiberglass Company (20 years), and he retired from Opryland Hotel, after 20 years of service. He enjoyed bowling and was in a bowling league, watching sports on TV, and he loved playing with his grandchildren.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Craig and Jimmy Hollis, brother, John B. Craig Sr., sister, Laurine McGlown, brothers-in-law, George W. Briskey, Willie Howard Briskey, and Martin Luther Briskey, niece, Valerie Siglar, and nephew, Eric (Kenya) Craig.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories wife, Lola P. Craig, son, Michael Briskey, daughter, Veronica Craig, grandchildren, Alexis Craig, Jockquvais Craig,  Ronnie Wright, Amber Majors, great grandchildren, Antonia Sweat, Jayceon Craig, Jayseon Craig, Jebria Craig, Tahmaj Wilkerson, Jockquvais Johnson, Zakai Craig, Rikhia Harden, Khiyonnia Majors, A’Miyah Covington, brother, Lee James (Eve) Craig sisters, Johnnie L. Craig, Judith Ann (Daniel) Means, brother-in-law, Clifford (Margrette) Briskey, sister-in-law, Geneva Hendricks, nieces, Jacquita (David)Davis, Shanta (Jerone) Tate, Cassandra (Michael) Kennedy, Markita Craig, Teressa Perry, Patrica Perry, Carolyn Craig, Rosa L. Colston, nephews, Christopher Baggett, Lee James Craig, Jr., devoted friends, Melvin (Shirley) Wright & Family, Mayme Brown & Family, Lloyd (Vivian) Temple & Family, Ranetta Phillips, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
